MURDER CAN BE FUN - IN A COMICAL MYSTERY SERIES, THAT IS

Continuing  "blog hopping" Morgan made a stop at Christa Nardi's blog to discuss Murder Can Be Fun - if it's in a funny mystery book, that is.

Ever wonder how the Silver Sisters Mysteries were born. She talks about that and a lot more on the topic of funny crime fiction.

And by the way, Morgan and co-author Phyllice are about half-way through writing the fourth crazy escapade, "Diamonds in the Dumpster." Here's one clue. Godiva has a new boyfriend--Chef Caesar Romano is history--and her new love's name is Dexter Diamond. But that's not the whole story. Release targeted for the end of the year.

And, then we have the latest funny murder plot, "Bumping Off Fat Vinny," Kindle and paperback and now in production as an audiobook. Oh, yeah. This one is funny, too.

Meanwhile, pay a visit to Christa's blog and while you're there, leave a comment. Please share with your friends

"BUMPING OFF FAT VINNY" AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER ON AMAZON

WHY DO THESE AUTHORS WANT TO KILL THEIR PUBLISHER?

When obnoxious publisher "Fat Vinny" Vitali rejects their final manuscript, the authors try everything before they turn to murder!

There is no shortage of humor when Mob wife Maria Mancuso's true story, co-authored by best-selling authors Danny Garrett, a former FBI agent, and Margaret Stanton, a wealthy divorcee, is flatly rejected by the publisher from Hell. "Fat Vinny" Vitali, who tops the scales around 400 pounds, signed them to a contract for Maria's memoir--the one she came out of hiding to write--but what he really wanted was an investigative Mob book and the solution to who killed her late husband, Tony "The Nose," head of the notorious Mancuso crime family. The hit on "The Nose" is still unsolved, and entrepreneur Vitali, new to the publishing business, pictures himself becoming the King of True Crime books with this book.READ MORE

The problem was, never once in the year-and-a-half it took to write the book had he shared his vision with the authors, even though he sat in on most of the development meetings.
While many authors may have entertained less than friendly thoughts for agents or publishers who have done them wrong, Fat Vinny is one of those guys who begs to be hated. He wants what he wants and is determined to get it any way possible. He wants a Mob exposé, and when nothing they say changes his mind, he threatens to shelve the book forever. He won't give back the rights, even if they return the advance, because he's determined to show them he's the boss. With other things in the works for Maria, the only way they can get it back is if Vinny has a one-way ticket to the Happy Hunting Ground.

Unfortunately for them, Vinny seems to have 9 lives, because every diabolically clever scheme they devise backfires. Trying to bump off Fat Vinny is like hiring the "Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight" as hit men. Be prepared for a hilarious romp with clever plots that go wrong and some shocking twists at the end.

Definitely a fun read that will keep you turning the pages.

Here is a little taste of it:

Terror in a Teapot

They all turned around as the door flew open again, making the bell jingle furiously. A whale of a woman with bright red hair, wearing a caftan covered in red and gold swirls, huffed and puffed as she lumbered into the crowded antique shop.
Belle Pepper was three hundred and seventeen pounds of pure drama. She plucked a crumpled hankie from her purse and mopped her damp forehead. “I just came from the Russian church.” She gulped, trying to catch her breath as her multicolored bosom heaved up and down. “He’s dead! The priest is dead!”
Nora and Dora chorused, “Father Innocent? Dead?”
Belle shook her head wildly. “Not Father Innocent. Father Augustine! He’s been murdered. Right there in the church.”

With that, Belle collapsed on one of the antique settees in the middle of the store, and Goldie held her breath, praying it would support her mother-in-law’s weight.

LATEST REVIEW FOR "RIPOFF"

RIPOFF is holding its own in ratings on Amazon. Currently
Here is the LATEST REVIEW. Thank you to James Kirkland. Reviews currently average 4 STAR

His review is from: Ripoff: A Funny Crime Caper (Kindle Edition)
I enjoyed this novel very much. It kept me wanting to keep reading so I could get to the end and find out if I had figured it out. I had not.
Thank you. James Kirkland
NOTE: The authors' knowledge of how the furniture manufacturing division of the real program in federal prisons works, and what happens when huge orders are placed, is what allowed them to come up with a twist ending and a scam that could have worked.

Will the ladies embark on more adventures outside of their comfort zone? Time will tell. Meanwhile, grab a copy of RIPOFF and post your own review on Amazon, Goodreads, etc.

COUNTDOWN TO THE END OF RIPOFF'S FREE PROMOTION

WHO'S RIPPING OFF THE FEDERAL PRISON SYSTEM...AND HOW?

A funny crime caper with a diabolically clever scam

Thirty-something Kimberly was living the good life with a great executive job, a wardrobe to die for, and a hot young boyfriend. That all changed in the space of a few hours when her company went bankrupt and her boy-toy took off with her money and most of her worldly possessions. When she accepts a job with the Federal prison system, she and her sidekicks are faced with not only a "whodunit" but a "howdunit."

They have some hard choices to make. Manufacturing in Federal prisons is BIG business--NEARLY A BILLION DOLLARS a year and that is TRUE! A plan to embezzle millions was going fine until these down-on-their-luck women were hired and red flags went up.

When Kimberly, Cameron and Kate bumble into a diabolical embezzlement plot and launch an amateur undercover investigation filled with twists and turns, suspicion turns to surprise. They discover so much more than they ever anticipated.

The idea for this fictional caper was conceived from experiences the co-authors had while working as marketing representatives for furniture manufactured in Federal prisons. It could not have been written without their knowledge of the system and having been inside prison factories.
Get ready for a mind-blowing romp.

˃˃˃IMAGINE CHARLIE'S ANGELS STARRING IN 9 TO 5 MEETS

THE FIRST WIVES CLUB!

These three amateur sleuths lead the reader on a merry chase filled with twists, turns and backfires. Little did they know that jobs as a Controller and manufacturer's reps would have them knee deep in trouble.

RIPOFF NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON IN PAPERBACK AND KINDLE

This funny crime caper about embezzling from the federal prison system is now available in paperback and Kindle. Amazon PRIME members download the Kindle edition FREE.

Most people don't know that manufacturing in federal prisons is close to a billion dollar a year business. I know because for 4 years Caroline Rowe and I were Territory Manager Marketing Reps for the REAL prison manufacturing entity. We were inside factories, spoke to and dealt with inmates in the system and did lots of business...and I mean millions..with the military and other federal government entities.

We worked for a private contractor that handled the marketing function nationally and saw lots of questionable things going on in the private enterprise. After they went bankrupt owing the prison system money Caroline and I thought what fun it would be to create a  RIPOFF scheme that could really work using our knowledge of how things worked.

This is my 10th book and Caroline's first and we had a ball dreaming up our scam. A former FBI agent even said it could have worked. We were able to use lots of things that actually happened to us and even more from our imagination. If you like funny crime capers, twists and turns and surprise endings, you are going to love Kimberly, Kate and Cameron as their amateur undercover investigations often backfire but produce more than they ever expected to find.
